Carlos Sanchez-Luna Died in Lubbock Car Accident on 16th Street and Avenue K

 
LUBBOCK, TX (October 8, 2024) — 19-year-old Carlos Sanchez-Luna died in a car accident on Sunday, September 29.
 
According to the Lubbock Police Department, the accident occurred at around 12:04 a.m. at the intersection of 16th Street and Avenue K.
 
During the initial investigation, police found out that an SUV driven by Sanchez-Luna traveled north in the 1700 block of Avenue K.
 
Then, a passenger vehicle traveling west collided with the SUV at the intersection of 16th Street and Avenue K. Due to the impact of the collision, the SUV spun and crashed into a tree.
 
Responding officers pronounced Sanchez-Luna dead at the scene.
 
Four passengers in the SUV sustained injuries. Two of them, 19-year-old Dylan Burton and 20-year-old Gabrielle Perez, had serious injuries. Meanwhile, 19-year-old Wyatt Stewart and 19-year-old Alexandra Sigel suffered minor injuries.
 
Paramedics transported all four passengers by EMS to Covenant Medical Center.
 
The driver of the passenger vehicle, whose identity was not available, was not hurt.
