Callejas Alfredo Killed in Semi-Truck Accident in Winkler County

 
WINKLER COUNTY, TX (November 20, 2024) — 26-year-old Callejas Maldonado Alfredo, of Tuscaloosa, died in an accident on Tuesday, November 5.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident happened around 10:20 p.m. on the Highway 302 entrance ramp near mile marker 221.
 
Texas DPS said a 2004 Ford Mustang driven by Alfredo traveled westbound on Highway 302. At the same time, a 2011 Freightliner with a trailer also moved westbound on the same highway at the crest of the overpass.
 
Alfredo tried to make a U-turn with oncoming traffic. Then the Freightliner struck the Mustang.
 
Responding officers pronounced Alfredo dead at the scene.
 
The driver of the Freightliner was not hurt. However, the Texas DPS continues to investigate the incident.
