Byron Lima Killed and Another Hurt after Truck Crash on 35 Freeway near Mile Marker 284

 
SALADO, TX (June 10, 2024) — A 24-year-old man identified as Byron Lopez Lima, of Austin, died in a on 35 Freeway on Friday, May 24.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident took place south on 35 Freeway near mile marker 284 at about 7:19 p.m.
 
The lead DPS Trooper said that an unoccupied Kenworth truck tractor semi-trailer was legally parked on the improved shoulder because of mechanical failure. Then a F-250 failed to drive in a single lane and struck the parked semi.
 
Lima, who was a rear passenger, died on the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics rushed a 20-year-old front-seat passenger to Baylor Scott & White in critical condition.
 
Texas DPS continues to investigate this case.
