Douglas Shippy, Brian Rose Identified in Fatal DUI Crash in Goodyear

 
GOODYEAR, AZ (May 30, 2023) – The Goodyear Police Department identified 43-year-old Brian Rose and 58-year-old Douglas Shippy who died in a crash on 155th Avenue on May 28.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Indian School Road. Based on a report from Goodyear firefighters, multiple cars collided in the lanes.
 
Due to unknown reasons, one of the vehicles caught fire in the incident.
 
As a result, Rose and Shippy suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
Three other people suffered injuries. Emergency crews rushed them to the hospital for treatment. Their conditions are unavailable.
 
Police took one of the drivers, Andrew Lugo, into custody and booked him into Maricopa County Jail on manslaughter, endangerment, aggravated DUI with a passenger under 15, extreme DUI, and speeding charges.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
