Woman Dead in Head-On Crash on Highway 303
SILVERDALE, WA (January 27, 2025) — A 61-year-old Bremerton woman died in a head-on accident on Highway 303 on Tuesday, January 21.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash occurred at about 7:30 p.m. just east where the Highway 3 and Highway 303 merge, east of Silverdale Way.
Investigators revealed that a 79-year-old man drove a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse south in the northbound lane of Highway 303. Subsequently, the Chevrolet collided head-on with a 2016 Ford Transit traveling north.
Emergency responders pronounced the female driver of the Ford dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the male driver of the Chevrolet sustained injuries. Paramedics transported him to St. Michael Medical Center for treatment. Authorities said he faces a charge of vehicular homicide.
Officials said they do not suspect drugs and alcohol as factors in the crash. Both drivers also wore seatbelts at the time of the collision.
The incident blocked all northbound lanes of Highway 303 for several hours.
The Washington State Patrol handles the ongoing investigation.
