Ausencio Pacheco, Elia Pacheco, Keerthi Bandhakavi and 13-Year-Old Tanvi Bandhakavi Hurt in Toppenish Car Crash

4 Injured, Venkat Bandhakavi Charged after Toppenish Car Accident

 
TOPPENISH, WA (May 2, 2023) – Four people were injured and one person was charged after a car crash on Meyers Road on April 15.
 
Officers identified 73-year-old Ausencio Pacheco, 68-year-old Elia Pacheco, 39-year-old Keerthi Bandhakavi, and 13-year-old Tanvi Bandhakavi as the victims who were hurt in the accident.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Track Road around 10:45 AM.
 
Based on a report, 41-year-old Venkat Bandhakavi of Sacramento was driving a 2021 Toyota Sienna southbound on Meyers Road at the time of the crash. He failed to yield the right of way to Pacheco’s 1995 Dodge Ram, causing the crash.
 
As a result, Pacheco and his passenger, Elia suffered injuries. Officials took them to MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital along with Keerthi and Tanvi, both passengers in the Sienna.
 
Police charged Venkat Bandhakavi with negligent driving second-degree.
 
At this point, an investigation into the accident is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
