Aurora Rey Dead in El Paso Rollover Crash

 
EL PASO, TX (March 4, 2025) — A woman identified as 55-year-old Aurora Rey, of Central El Paso, died weeks following an accident on February 7.
 
The El Paso Police said the crash occurred around 7:00 p.m. in the 6200 block of Railroad Drive.
 
Investigators said Rey drove a 2003 gray Ford Expedition north on Railroad Drive. Then the vehicle veered off the road and overturned.
 
During the rollover, the impact ejected both Rey and her 61-year-old passenger from the vehicle. Police confirmed that neither occupant wore a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
 
Emergency crews arrived and then transported both individuals to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. After weeks of treatment, Rey died from her injuries on Friday, February 21. Meanwhile, her passenger’s current condition has not been updated.
 
Investigators determined that impairment contributed as a factor in the crash.
 
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
