Bicyclist Ashton Hutchison Struck and Killed by Vehicles in Austin

 
AUSTIN, TX (January 10, 2024) – The Austin Police Department identified 31-year-old Ashton Hutchison who died in a bicycle accident in the 5600 block of East Parmer Lane on December 12.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 1:30 AM. Based on a report, Hutchison collided with two vehicles. Police said one driver stayed but the other drove away.
 
As a result, Hutchison suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
APD later arrested the hit-and-run driver, 19-year-old Alexis Acevedo, on possession of a controlled substance and failure to stop and render aid. Officers booked him into Travis County jail on bonds totaling $60,000.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
