Antonio Dorame Killed, Juan Urquidez Arrested in Tucson Hit-and-Run

 
TUCSON, AZ (February 16, 2025) — A 25-year-old man identified as Antonio Benjamin Dorame died in a hit-and-run on Thursday, February 6.
 
According to Tucson Police, the accident occurred on North Oracle Road near West Miracle Mile around 7:00 p.m.
 
Tucson Police said Dorame tried to cross Oracle Road. Then a northbound 2005 Honda Civic driven by 21-year-old Juan Carlos Urquidez, hit him.
 
Dorame sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Witnesses said the vehicle traveled at a high rate of speed and Dorame was not in a crosswalk.
 
After hitting Dorame, Urquidez fled north and then ran a red light at West Fort Lowell Road. He then subsequently collided with a turning vehicle, triggering a three-vehicle crash.
 
Officers determined Urquidez was under the influence. Paramedics transported him to the hospital. After that, they booked him into the Pima County Jail on charges of manslaughter, aggravated assault, felony endangerment, and criminal damage. Officials set his bond at $250,000.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
