LAS VEGAS, NV (October 5, 2024) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police identified 47-year-old Ann Kathleen Simmons of Las Vegas woman who died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 159 on September 10.
 
According to the Nevada State Police, the collision happened near mile marker 9 around 7:00 PM. Based on a report, Simmons was walking southbound on the highway prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a gray 2006 Toyota Scion coupe was traveling northbound on the same highway. Due to unknown reasons, the victim entered the travel lane and the Toyota driver could not stop in time. The vehicle then hit the woman.
 
As a result, Simmons suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with investigating officers.
