Woman Killed, Suspected DUI Driver Ana Contreras Arrested in Houston DUI Accident

 
HOUSTON, TX (December 5, 2024) – The Houston Police Department arrested 29-year-old Ana Contreras following a fatal accident on North Eldridge Parkway on November 23.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 1:05 AM. Based on a report, Contreras was drunk when she drove a gray Honda Accord.
 
She traveled at high speed, struck a curb, left the roadway, and hit a tree.
 
As a result, a 23-year-old female passenger in the car suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences did not yet release her identity, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Emergency crews transported Contreras and a 29-year-old female front-seat passenger to a local hospital in stable condition.
 
Police said Contreras is now facing intoxication manslaughter charges.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
