Amtoj Singh Injured in Car Crash on Highway 77 near Locke Street

 
WOODSBORO, TX (October 9, 2023) — A man suffered identified as 32-year-old Amtoj Singh suffered injuries in a car accident on Tuesday, September 5.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Rob Malloy, the crash happened on U.S. Highway 77 near Locke Street. A truck hauling a Stoughton trailer and traveling southbound in the outside line veered off the highway at around 7:07 a.m.
 
The driver of the truck, 24-year-old Harjot Singh, of Ontario, Canada, said a bug flew into the cab of the truck. Then it went into one of his eyes. After that, it caused the vehicle to leave its lane and hit the guardrail. The vehicle ultimately traveled into the grass and crashed through a fence.
 
Malloy said Amtoj Singh was asleep in the sleeper berth of the truck and not restrained. He suffered serious injuries in the crash. They rushed him to Spohn Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi.
 
The DPS continues to investigate the incident.
