Alicia Ashby Identified in Fatal Yakima Crash, Shane Kroeger Arrested for DUI
YAKIMA, WA (December 22, 2022) – Officers identified 33-year-old Alicia Ashby as the victim who died in a crash on East Lincoln Avenue on December 19.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened in the 300 block of East Lincoln Avenue around 5:15 AM. Based on a report, 25-year-old Shane Kroeger was driving west on the road prior to the crash.
Due to unknown reasons, his vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a tree. Subsequently, Kroeger fled the scene of the crash.
As a result, Ashby and another female passenger in the vehicle suffered injuries. Paramedics transported them to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, where Ashby died.
Police found and arrested Kroeger a short distance away from the crash. They believed Kroeger was impaired at that time. He is now facing charges of vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, and hit-and-run.
