Alexis Gutierrez Arrested in Fatal Crash on Tower Road [Aurora, CO]

DUI Driver Alexis Gutierrez Involved in Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash in Aurora

 
AURORA, CO (December 5, 2024) – The Aurora Police Department arrested 22-year-old Alexis Ayala Gutierrez following a fatal crash on Tower Road on November 23.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the accident happened at 40th Avenue around 7:15 AM. Based on a report, Gutierrez was driving a black Jeep northbound on Tower Road before the crash.
 
He was speeding when he collided with a Chevrolet Cobalt. The Jeep rolled after the crash. Debris from the collision struck and damaged a Subaru.
 
As a result, the driver of the Chevy suffered grave injuries and died at the hospital. Officials did not release the victim’s name, pending notification of next of kind.
 
Emergency crews transported the Jeep driver to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries.
 
Gutierrez was not hurt in the incident. Police said he has an outstanding warrant out of Jefferson County for a reckless driving conviction with a $10,000 personal recognizance bond. Police will arrest him on charges from the crash.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
