Alexander Panerio Dies in Buckeye Semi-Truck Crash on Baseline Road and Maricopa County Road 85

 
BUCKEYE, AZ (June 3, 2024) — A motorcycle rider identified as 28-year-old Alexander Panerio died in a semi-truck accident on Friday, May 24.
 
The crash happened just after 4:30 a.m. near Baseline Road and Maricopa County Road 85.
 
According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, Panerio rode a motorcycle in the same direction as a semi-truck. Then he tried to pass the semi-truck on the left in a no-passing zone. That is when he crashed into the semi-truck.
 
Panerio died on the scene. There were no reports of other injuries.
 
The accident caused the semi-truck to leak diesel onto the roadway. HAZMAT crews responded and quickly contained the spill.
 
Authorities said the semi-truck driver was not under the influence.
 
Officers closed the roadway for several hours as they investigated the crash.
