Alexander Grandy, Amara Grandy, and Alvin Grandy Die in Whitewright Car Accident

 
WHITEWRIGHT, TX (September 5, 2024) — Three children, who are all siblings, died in a three-vehicle accident on Friday, August 30.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened just before 7:30 p.m. on Highway 69 near Penny Road.
 
Texas DPS said a 2006 Hyundai Elantra driven by 40-year-old Hyrum Grandy, of Lone Oak, moved south on Highway 69. Then it had to veer into the shoulder to avoid an accident. However, it hit a Ford F150 driven by 34-year-old Angel Martinez, of Celest. The impact of the collision forced the Hyundai into the northbound lane where a Chevy Silverado driven by 29-year-old Lane Recer, of Trenton, struck it.
 
Three children inside the Hyundai died in the accident. Authorities identified them as 14-year-old Alexander Grandy, 13-year-old Amara Grandy, and 10-year-old Alvin Grandy. They were siblings from Lone Oak, Texas.
 
Meanwhile, Hyum Grandy also sustained injuries. But has been released from the hospital last Saturday.
 
Loved ones made a GoFundMe to support the Gandy family following their loss.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
