Alan Belcher Dies and Jose Martinez Arrested after Mesquite DUI Pedestrian Accident
MESQUITE, TX (September 26, 2024) — A 52-year-old man identified as Alan Dallas Belcher died in a DUI accident on Saturday, September 21.
The Mesquite Police said the incident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. near Town East Boulevard and Motley Drive.
According to the Mesquite Police, a vehicle struck Belcher and they pronounced him dead at the scene.
Investigators later determined that the driver involved was under the influence. They identified him as 18-year-old Jose Martinez, of Garland.
Officers arrested Martinez for intoxication manslaughter. He has since been released after he posted a $20,000 bond.
Officials continue to investigate the crash. Officials did not release further details about the victim or driver.
