Juan Rosas Fuentes Struck and Injured by Hit-and-Run Driver on Williams Field Road at Gilbert Road in Gilbert

 
GILBERT, AZ (January 2, 2024) – The Gilbert Police Department identified 89-year-old Juan Rosas Fuentes who died in a hit-and-run on Williams Field Road on December 28.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Gilbert Road. Based on the report, Fuentes was walking to pick up juice at a grocery store across the street from his house at the time of the accident.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle sideswiped and spun him. The driver then fled the scene, without giving aid to the victim.
 
As a result, Fuentes cut his wrist and hand. The incident also broke his ankle and he had a slight concussion. First responders responded and transported him to the hospital for treatment.
 
Gilbert police are still looking for the hit-and-run driver. They ask anyone with information to call them.
