Fred Gunn Jr. Identified in Fatal Car Crash in Crockett
CROCKETT, TX (December 4, 2023) – Officials identified 89-year-old Fred Gunn Jr. of Kennard who died in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 21 on November 27.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 10:25 AM. Based on a report, Gunn was driving southwest on Highway 21 when his Ford pickup experienced a blowout.
The incident caused the vehicle to drive into the oncoming lane. Then, Gunn’s vehicle collided head-on with an oncoming Freightliner truck before catching fire.
As a result, Gunn suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
The driver of the Freightliner, 57-year-old Tracy Lightsey of Fort Worth, did not suffer any injuries.
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
