86-Year-Old Connie Beard Killed in Crash on College Street at Lindbergh Drive [Beaumont, TX]

Connie Beard Identified in Fatal Car Crash in Beaumont

 
BEAUMONT, TX (January 10, 2024) – The Beaumont Police Department identified 86-year-old Connie Beard of Sour Lake who died in a crash in the 5400 block of College Street on January 3.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Lindbergh Drive shortly after 4:00 PM. Based on a report, Beard exited a parking lot in a white 2008 Chevy Cobalt and was eastbound on College Street.
 
At the same time, a black 2018 Ford F-250 was also traveling east on the same road. When Beard decided to attempt a U-turn, the F-250 hit her vehicle.
 
As a result, Beard suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. Justice of the Peace Ben Collins Sr. ordered an autopsy.
 
The driver of the F-250 had minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.
 
Crews diverted all eastbound traffic on College Street to Lindbergh Drive. As of now, the case remains under investigation. However, no other details are available.
