Karen Miely Hospitalized after Hit-and-Run in Seattle

 
SEATTLE, WA (January 10, 2025) — A professional dog walker and pet-sitter, Karen Miely, was injured in a hit-and-run on Christmas Day.
 
According to the Seattle Police, the crash occurred at about 7:00 p.m. near 52nd Avenue South and Orcas Street.
 
Reports said that 73-year-old Karen Miely, of Seward Park, took her own cat for a nightly walk. Then the hit-and-run occurred and witnesses found Miely injured. Meanwhile, the involved the driver fled away.
 
Currently, Miely is still recovering in the hospital. She sustained several injuries, including broken legs and a shattered pelvis. Her cat was not hurt by the incident.

Seattle Police Spokesperson Eric Munoz said the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad handles the investigation of the case. In addition, he said that they have not yet identified the suspect or made any arrests. They ask anyone with footage of the incident to call the Seattle Police.
