3-Year-Old Reginae Richardson Killed in Rollover Crash on Cowart Street [Houston, TX]

3-Year-Old Reginae Richardson Identified in Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash in Houston

 
HOUSTON, TX (July 8, 2024) – The Houston Police Department identified 3-year-old Reginae Richardson who died in a rollover crash in the 8500 Cowart Street on June 18.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 8:35 PM. Based on a report, Richardson was a passenger inside a white Kia Soul traveling southbound on Silverdale Street before the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, the driver of the vehicle failed to maintain a single lane and struck a wooden utility pole on the northbound side of the sidewalk at Cowart Street. The vehicle then rolled and landed on its passenger side, ejecting Richardson from the front passenger window.
 
As a result, Richardson suffered grave injuries in the incident. Crews rushed her to the hospital, where she later died.
 
The driver and another eight-year-old female passenger climbed out of the driver’s window. Crews also took them to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
 
Officers did not observe any signs of intoxication on the driver. They only noted the absence of child seats in the car.

As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
