19-Year-Old Kolson Jacobs, 18-Year-Old Lorin Miller Killed in Head-On Crash on Highway 111 [Yoakum, TX]

19-Year-Old Kolson Jacobs and 18-Year-Old Lorin Miller Identified in Fatal Yoakum Crash on Highway 111

 
YOAKUM, TX (October 17, 2022) – Police identified 19-year-old Kolson Jacobs and 18-year-old Lorin Miller as the victims who died in a head-on crash on Highway 111 on October 15.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 4½ miles east of Yoakum around 11:30 AM.
 
Based on a report, Jacobs’ 2018 Ford F-350 wasn’t maintaining its lane prior to the crash. Subsequently, it drifted directly into the path of Yoakum resident 18-year-old Connor Jacobs Ratcliff driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado. Jacobs’ vehicle spun 360 degrees from impact and came to rest in the east side of the road in a ditch. Ratcliff’s Silverado came to rest in the shoulder of the eastbound lane.
 
As a result, a Justice of the Peace pronounced Jacobs dead at the scene. Emergency crews sent Miller to Yoakum Community Hospital, where she later died.
 
Ratcliff was airlifted to St. David’s Medical Center in Austin where he was in stable but critical condition.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no further information is available.
