18-Year-Old Driver Fleeing from Crash Killed in Midland Accident, Alexis Aguinaga–Rodriguez Injured
MIDLAND, TX (April 11, 2023) – Officers confirmed that an 18-year-old Midland man died and 19-year-old Alexis Aguinaga–Rodriguez suffered injuries in a crash on Highway 349 on April 5.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at County Road 121 around 6:29 PM. Based on a report, Aguinaga–Rodriguez was traveling north in a 2011 GMC Terrain prior to the crash.
When he attempted to turn onto CR 121, the Midlander driving a 2011 Chevrolet Impala struck his vehicle on the passenger side. Police said the Midlander was fleeing from a previous crash scene.
As a result, both drivers suffered injuries in the incident. Crews transported them to Midland Memorial Hospital, where the Midland man died.
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
