18-Year-Old Joseph Nogues Slowik Arrested after Crashing into Police Vehicles in Phoenix
PHOENIX, AZ (June 27, 2024) – The Phoenix Police Department arrested 18-year-old Joseph Nogues Slowik following an accident on 45th Avenue on June 5.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Osborn Road around 10:30 AM. Based on a report, the situation began on 17 Freeway when a trooper noticed Slowik’s black Chevrolet Tahoe passing him at an extremely high rate of speed.
As the trooper attempted to pull the suspect over, Slowik nearly hit several other vehicles.
After exiting the freeway, Slowik hit two stopped vehicles at a red light. When he drove toward a motorcycle trooper, he spun around in the direction of another trooper in an SUV. The trooper rammed the Tahoe into a barrier wall. Slowik escaped before eventually colliding with a power pole on 45th Avenue.
As a result, the trooper suffered minor injuries in the incident.
DPS arrested Slowik on charges including aggravated assault of an officer, unlawful flight from law enforcement, reckless driving, criminal damage, leaving the scene of an accident, burlary and possession of a weapon by a prohibited possessor.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
