Car Crash in Amarillo Kills Two Brothers and Teen Girl
AMARILLO, TX (January 17, 2024) – The Amarillo Police Department identified 17-year-old Victoria Vasquez, 37-year-old Joseph Hernandez, and 38-year-old Moses Hernandez who died in a crash on South Grand Street on January 11.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at 4800 South Grand Street around 1:00 PM. Based on a report, Vasquez was driving a white Lexus when she lost control and entered oncoming traffic.
Subsequently, she crashed into a Chevrolet Impala traveling in the opposite direction. Vasquez ejected from the Lexus.
As a result, the teen suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
The Impala driver, Joseph “JoJo” Hernandez, and his brother and passenger – Moses – also died from their injuries at the scene.
JoJo’s 19-month-old son was in the backseat and suffered a fractured leg and broken hand. He was taken to the hospital.
GoFundMe accounts for JoJo and Moses were created to help their wife’s and family going forward.
As of now, the case remains under investigation.
