Fatal Electric Scooter Accident on Pecos Road in Henderson

 
HENDERSON, NV (July 5, 2023) Henderson police confirmed that a 17-year-old girl died in an electric scooter accident on Pecos Road on June 23.
 
According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Sunshadow Avenue shortly before 10:30 AM. Based on a report, the victim was traveling on an electric scooter northbound on Pecos Road in the southbound bike lane.
 
At the same time, a U-Haul truck was traveling eastbound on Sunshadow Avenue approaching Pecos Road. When the truck turned onto southbound Pecos from Sunshadow Avenue, it caused a crash where the victim slid into the truck.
 
Crews transported the girl to Sunrise Trauma, where she later died.
 
The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
 
Police ask anyone with information to call them at 702-267-4911. At this point, officers continue to investigate the case.
