Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted after Killing 16-Year-Old Josiah Stayner on Highway 50 at El Dorado Road in Placerville

 
PLACERVILLE, CA (June 13, 2023) – Officials identified 16-year-old Josiah Stayner who died in a hit-and-run on Highway 50 on June 5.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at El Dorado Road around 3:00 AM.
 
Based on a report, Stayner was on the road at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle going west on the highway struck him and left the scene.
 
As a result, Stayner suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
Police belived the suspect vehicle to be a white Honda Accord of model year 2018 to 2022.
 
The driver’s identity remains unknown. As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
