15-Year-Old Stephaun Fair Identified in Fatal Police Chase Accident in Houston
HOUSTON, TX (December 11, 2023) – Officials identified 15-year-old Stephaun Fair who died in an accident on Veterans Memorial Drive on December 2.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened shortly before 1:00 AM. Based on a report, Fair was a passenger inside a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu speeding on Kuykendahl Road before the crash.
Officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver took off. Police said during the chase, the Malibu hit speeds of 80 to 85 mph. The chase ended when the vehicle attempted to pass a Toyota Camry on Veterans Memorial Drive. Still, the driver hit the Camry, causing the Malibu to spin out and strike another vehicle on the other side of the street.
As a result, Fair suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
Three other teenagers inside the Malibu, including the driver, also suffered injuries. The driver of the Camry was also hurt.
Police charged the teen driving the Malibu with felony murder and evading in a motor vehicle.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating this crash. As of now, no other details are available.
