14-Year-Old Driver, Five Others Injured in Crash on East 88th Avenue in Henderson

 
HENDERSON, CO (March 18, 2024) – Police confirmed that a 14-year-old boy was involved in a crash on East 88th Avenue on March 5.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash happened at Dahlia Street around 8:20 PM. Based on a report, the teen was driving a red vehicle west on East 88th Avenue prior to the crash.
 
Police he was likely speeding when he struck a guardrail, veered into oncoming traffic, and hit a minivan near the intersection. The impact totaled both vehicles and stripped the sedan’s hood off. It was also submerged in water and had its windshield shattered.
 
As a result, two women in the minivan sustained serious injuries but are expected to be OK. The teens also suffered injuries.
 
Police said the boy could face a vehicular assault charge.
