13-Year-Old Josiah Boteilho Killed, Bartolome Godinez-Perez Arrested in Crash on 30th Street [Phoenix, AZ]

Josiah Boteilho Identified in Fatal Phoenix Crash on 30th Street

 
PHOENIX, AZ (May 16, 2023) – The Phoenix Police Department identified 13-year-old Josiah Boteilho in a fatal crash on 30th Street on May 14.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Greenway Road around 8:00 AM. Based on a report from the Phoenix Fire Department, a man in a truck was driving into oncoming traffic.
 
Due to unknown reasons, it struck another vehicle carrying a family of two adults, Boteilho, and four other children.
 
As a result, Boteilho died at the hospital from his injuries.
 
The six other members of his family remain at the hospital.
 
Police arrested the truck driver, 36-year-old Bartolome Godinez-Perez, for manslaughter and DUI.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available at this time.
