UTV Involved in Fatal Accident on Hawke Eye Road in Elfrida

 
COCHISE COUNTY, AZ (May 16, 2024) – The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a 13-year-old girl died in a UTV accident on Hawke Eye Road on May 4.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened in Elfrida around 5:30 PM. Based on a report, the victim and another teen girl were riding the off-road vehicle when it crashed.
 
The impact ejected the girls from the side-by-side UTV.
 
As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries. Emergency crews rushed her to the hospital, where she later died. Officials did not release her name, pending kin notification.
 
Crews airlifted the 14-year-old victim to a Tucson hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
