Child Hospitalized after Aurora Pedestrian Accident on South Harvest Road and Orchard Road

 
AURORA, CO (August 29, 2024) — A 12-year-old girl sustained injuries in a pedestrian accident on South Harvest Road on Wednesday, August 14.
 
According to the Aurora Police Department spokesperson Joe Moylan, the incident took place at the intersection of South Harvest Road and Orchard Road at around 9:00 a.m.
 
Aurora Police said that the middle schooler was on the way to school with friends. The girl rode an electric scooter in the crosswalk at South Harvest Road and Orchard Road. Then a turning pickup truck hit her.
 
The accident happened less than a mile south of Infinity Middle School, near the edge of Aurora’s Pomeroy neighborhood and Wheatlands neighborhood.
 
Aurora officers responded to the scene. Then paramedics brought the 12-year-old to the hospital with minor injuries at about 9:20 a.m.
 
No other students suffered injuries in the accident.
 
The driver remained at the scene.
 
Crash investigators are still determining what caused the accident.
