Fatal Houston Car Crash on Highway 59

 
HOUSTON, TX (February 8, 2023) – A driver died while a passenger sustained injuries following a vehicle that crashed into a barrel on US Highway 59 on Saturday afternoon, February 4.

According to the Houston Police Department, the crash took place approximately 12:55 a.m. on the 5500 block of Southwest Freeway.

A black Nissan Versa traveling westbound failed to stay within the traffic lanes. As a result, it hit the traffic barrels at the Fountain View Drive exit ramp. The vehicle then hit the concrete wall barrier on the right shoulder of the highway.

The driver of the vehicle, a 45-year-old man, died at the scene.

The passenger of the vehicle was taken to a hospital after sustaining non-life threatening injuries.
