Woman Dies, Adrian Rodriguez Chavira Ends Up Involved After Fresno County Crash on Interstate 5
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (February 22, 2025) – A woman died while Adrian Rodriguez Chavira was involved in a crash on Interstate 5 on Sunday morning, February 16.
The fatal incident occurred south of Highway 41, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities stated a 2019 Honda Accord being driven by Chavira of Chula Vista, who had a 24-year-old Tijuana, Mexico woman, had headed on I-5.
For reasons still undetermined, Chavira lost control of the Accord before drifting off the highway.
The Accord then fell into the California Aqueduct and slammed into a concrete divider wall within the call.
Chavira managed to extricate himself from the submerging Accord but his female passenger was unable to follow suit.
The accident left the female victim dead at the scene. A dive team later recovered her body and transported her to the Kings County Coroner’s Office.
Meanwhile, Chavira suffered minor injuries.
Officials are still working on determining the cause and factors surrounding the crash.
As the investigation remains in progress, no further information is released at this time.
