Alicia Dominguez Dead in Hit-and-Run in North Phoenix
PHOENIX, AZ (February 11, 2025) — 70-year-old Alicia Melero Dominguez died in a hit-and-run on Monday, February 3.
According to the Phoenix police, the accident happened at around 6:00 a.m. near 37th Avenue and Peoria Avenue.
Investigators determined that Dominguez tried to cross Peoria Avenue outside of a marked crosswalk when a vehicle hit her. After that, the driver did not stop and left the scene.
Upon arrival, officers found Dominguez with critical injuries. Then emergency personnel transported her to a hospital, where she later died.
Police later located the abandoned suspect vehicle nearby. However, there is no description of the suspect driver available at this time.
Authorities continue to search for the driver. They urge anyone with information to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish speakers. A reward is available for tips leading to an arrest.
