Dashani Broomfield Killed in Medical Lake Motorcycle Accident

 
MEDICAL LAKE, WA (October 5, 2024) — 21-year-old Dashani M. Broomfield from Ford died in a motorcycle crash on Tuesday, September 17.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident occurred at the intersection of Brooks Road and Highway 2 at around 11:31 p.m.
 
WSP said Broomfield rode his 2006 Yamaha YZFR6 eastbound on Highway 2. Then he crashed with a 2006 Ford Expedition driven by 18-year-old Kayleigh Roop, of St. Maries, Idaho. Roop tried to turn left onto Brooks Road when the collision happened.
 
The motorcycle came to rest and blocked the westbound lanes of the highway. Meanwhile, the Expedition remained in the eastbound lanes. It blocked traffic in both directions.
 
Responding officers pronounced Broomfield dead at the scene.
 
Roop did not sustain any injuries in the crash and is not facing charges.
 
WSP report said speeding contributed as a factor in the accident.
