Woman Hospitalized after Dump Truck Accident on Charleston Boulevard in Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS, NV (September 29, 2024) — A moped rider was injured in a dump truck accident on Charleston Boulevard on Monday, September 22.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the incident happened at about 1:29 p.m. on Charleston Boulevard, east of Maryland Parkway.
The initial investigation determined that a dump truck towing a trailer moved east on Charleston Boulevard. At the same time, a 2022 Daixi 50cc moped exited a private driveway.
LVMPD said the moped rider only identified as a 52-year-old woman, failed to yield to the truck. She then crashed into the side of it.
The impact of the accident caused the moped to roll over and then eject the rider.
Emergency responders transported her to UMC Trauma to receive treatment for life-threatening injuries.
Authorities continue to investigate the accident.
