Pedestrian Biyan Wu Killed in Semi-Truck Crash on 63rd Avenue and Buckeye Road

 
PHOENIX, AZ (July 31, 2024) — A 71-year-old woman, Biyan Wu, died in a semi-truck accident on Wednesday, July 17.
 
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the accident took place at about 2:00 a.m. near 63rd Avenue and Buckeye Road.
 
Phoenix police said Wu pushed a shopping cart along the edge of Buckeye Road. Then a semi-truck struck her.
 
When emergency responders arrived, they found Wu with critical injuries. Authorities tried to save her. However, she died at the scene.
 
Police said the driver remained at the scene after the accident and cooperated with the investigation. Additionally, they do not believe speed and impairment were factors in the incident.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the accident.
