Mary Casey, Ulysses Samayoa Dead in Abilene Car Crash on Loop 322

 
ABILENE, TX (May 20, 2024) — Two drivers identified as Ulysses Samayoa and Mary Casey died in a two-vehicle accident on Thursday, June 6.
 
According to the Abilene Police Department, the crash happened on Loop 322 near the Highway 80 overpass shortly before 4:30 p.m.
 
Abilene Police said 25-year-old Samayoa drove a Ford Explorer north on Loop 322. Then he veered off the roadway and into the southbound lane. It resulted in his vehicle striking a BMW X6 driven by 62-year-old Casey that was moving south.
 
A Justice of the Peace officer pronounced Samayoa and Casey dead at the scene. Officials have notified their next of kin. Reports said they were both Abilene residents.
 
There were no passengers in both vehicles.
 
Abilene Police said impairment does not appear as a factor in the incident.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
