DENVER, CO (April 8, 2024) — A scooter rider sustained injuries following a hit-and-run on Speer Boulevard on Friday, March 29.
 
According to the Denver Police Department, the scooter rider and motorist collided in the area of Speer Boulevard and Colfax Avenue.
 
Denver police said that a man on a standup electric scooter tried to cross Colfax in a southbound direction against the signal. At the same time, a white sedan moved eastbound on Colfax when the crash happened.
 
The driver of the sedan did not stop after the accident and drove away from the scene.
 
According to police, first responders arrived at the area and transported the scooter rider to a hospital in serious condition. The extent of his condition is not immediately available.
