72-Year-Old James Runge Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Jackrabbit Trail and Indian School Road

 
BUCKEYE, AZ (July 31, 2023) — A 72-year-old man identified as James Runge died in a pedestrian accident near Jackrabbit Trail and Indian School Road on Wednesday, July 26.
 
According to Buckeye police, officers responded to the scene of the crash at about 10 a.m.
 
Police said that Runge walked into the Fry’s Food Store parking lot. Then a commercial vehicle struck him.
 
Multiple bystanders tried to give aid to Runge. Then emergency responders administered CPR. However, Runge died in a hospital due to sustained injuries.
 
Police believe impairment is not a factor in the collision.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
