One Hurt after Multi-Vehicle Crash on Meridian Avenue
PUYALLUP, WA (January 23, 2025) — One suffered injuries in a multi-vehicle accident on Meridian Avenue on Friday, January 17.
According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred in a Safeway parking lot on the 13200 block of Meridian Avenue at about 11:00 a.m.
PCSD said three people were in a fight in the parking lot. When one of them tried to drive out of the parking lot, another person threw a brick through their window. It resulted in the car sliding into the roadway on Meridian Avenue. Two to three vehicles crashed into that vehicle.
Emergency responders arrived and brought one person to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
Meanwhile, officers detained one for questioning. However, there are no reports of arrests.
Officials closed both directions of Meridian Avenue between 132nd Street East and 128th Street. They reopened Meridian Avenue at about 1:00 p.m.
Washington State Patrol handles the ongoing investigation of the crash. At the same time, PCSD will also investigate the fight in the Safeway parking lot.
