Woman Dies After Being Hit in Lancaster Pedestrian Accident

 
LANCASTER, CA (February 8, 2023) — A woman died after being struck by a vehicle in an accident on Avenue J and 200th Street East on Tuesday afternoon, February 1.

The fatal incident occurred at about 7:45 p.m. and involved a disabled 2004 Toyota and a 2011 Ford, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities said the 68-year-old Riverside woman stood in front of her disabled Toyota after it stopped. As a result, it blocked the traffic lanes of Avenue J.

The Ford, driven by 52-year-old Rosa Alvarenca of Barstow, traveled west on Avenue J. After that, it hit the female pedestrian.

The woman died due to her injuries.

Alvarenca was uninjured and stayed at the scene to cooperate.
