Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 15 Freeway Leaves 2 Dead, 7 Injured
BAKER, CA (August 9, 2022) — Two people died while several others sustained injuries following a multi-vehicle crash on 15 Freeway on Tuesday afternoon, July 19.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision occurred near Baker Boulevard off-ramp and Kelbaker Road exit on northbound I-15 at around 12:33 p.m.
The vehicles involved were identified as a red compact four-door Sedan, a gray-colored Ford Escape SUV, and a blue pickup truck.
A total of seven people suffered injuries in the accident. Two adults were found unconscious and a child ejected from a vehicle. This prompted a request for three medical helicopters and multiple ambulances.
However, two of the three people in critical condition died at the scene, resulting in the cancellation of two helicopters.
Only one of the medical aircraft died arrive to airlift a person to Sunrise Medical Center in Las Vegas.
The rest of the injured rode on ground ambulances to receive treatment in the hospital.
Officials have not disclosed the cause of the crash and the details leading up to it. However, the incident is still under the investigation of the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office.
