Oakland Hit-and-Run on 62nd Avenue and Bancroft Avenue, Pedestrian Dies

 
OAKLAND, CA (August 9, 2022) — A 60-year-old pedestrian was killed after being struck in a hit-and-run on 62nd Avenue and Bancroft Avenue on Sunday night, July 17.

According to the Oakland Police Department, the fatal incident took place in the 6100 block of Bancroft Avenue at around 10:10 p.m.

Reports indicated that the pedestrian was found lying on the ground in the westbound lane of traffic. Life-saving measures were conducted, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities identified the suspect vehicle as a silver or white pickup truck. It was last seen heading westbound moments after the crash.

The factors and circumstances surrounding the incident remain unavailable at this time.
