Woman Dies in Pedestrian DUI Crash on Dougherty Road, Driver Giovanni Fissore Arrested

 
DUBLIN, CA (September 7, 2022) – A pedestrian was hit and killed in a DUI car crash on Dougherty Road on Sunday, July 31.

The driver of the vehicle – identified as Giovanni Fissore – was arrested after the accident, police said.

According to responding officers, they received a report of a pedestrian accident around 10:00 p.m. at 6200 block of Dougherty Road. Preliminary investigations confirmed Fissore, driving an Chevrolet SUV, hit a woman walking in the southbound lanes of the road.

Alameda County Fire Department and medical personnel tried to revive the victim, but she died at the scene. Authorities have yet to identify the victim.

Officials also reported that Fissore’s child was a passenger in the vehicle he was driving when the accident happened. He was arrested and charged with suspicion of DUI, vehicular manslaughter, and child abuse.
