Several People Harmed in Ector County Racing-Related Crash, Joshua Burk Arrested
ECTOR COUNTY, TX (November 16, 2022) – Several people sustained injuries while Joshua Burk was arrested after a racing-related crash on Farm to Market 1936 on Monday, November 14.
Based on the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident took place around 12:30 a.m. near mile marker 324. Initial investigation revealed that while riding his red Pontiac GTO at a high speed, Burk struck several vehicles parked on the side of the road.
Authorities furthered that Burk was racing when the accident happened.
Several people sustained severe injuries, police said.
Officials charged Burk with racing on a Highway causing serious bodily injury or death. He was booked to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. In 2017, Burk was also charged with two counts of speeding and one count of reckless driving but it remains unclear if he was convicted of the charges.
