Lashonda Figg Dies After Oakland Head-On Crash on 92nd Avenue and San Leandro Street

 
OAKLAND, CA (February 28, 2025) — Lashonda Figg died following a head-on crash on 92nd Avenue and San Leandro Street late Friday, February 21.

The fatal incident occurred at around 11:00 p.m., according to the Oakland Police Department.

Officials stated that a vehicle being driven by a 50-year-old Figg had headed eastbound on San Leandro Street at a high rate of speed, for reasons still undetermined.

Figg then went on a collision course with a GMC Yukon, driven by an Oakland man in his 40s, and a BART cement pillar.

The accident left Figg dead at a hospital.

Meanwhile, the male driver of the Yukon survived but suffered minor injuries.

Authorities are still working on determining the factors surrounding the accident.
