Frewoini Woldemariam Struck and Killed by Vehicle on 5 Freeway in Lynnwood

 
LYNNWOOD, WA (January 23, 2024) – Troopers identified 41-year-old Frewoini Woldemariam who died in a pedestrian accident on 5 Freeway on January 15.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at 44th Avenue around 11:55 PM. Based on a report, Woldemariam was standing on the road before the crash.
 
Subsequently, a Hyundai Venue SUV hit her while she was in the no. 3 lane of the northbound side of the freeway.
 
As a result, Woldemariam suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
The driver of the vehicle, a 31-year-old Granite Falls woman, sustained minor injuries. Crews transported her to Swedish Edmonds Hospital for treatment.
 
WSP closed the northbound side of the freeway between 44 Avenue and 220th Street.
 
Officers asked anyone with information regarding this case to call WSP at 425-923-6244 and provide case number 24-000789.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
